Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about coils, coatings, or custom orders? Here are some of the most common things we get asked, along with expert answers from our team.

What types of coils do you manufacture?

We specialize in high-quality microchannel coils, including evaporator coils, condenser coils, and fluid coolers. Each coil is engineered for performance, durability, and ease of maintenance.

Do you offer custom coil designs?

Yes. Many of our customers need coils built to specific size, performance, or environmental requirements. We can customize coil dimensions, fin spacing, and coating options to fit your application.

What’s the difference between microchannel and copper tube coils?

Microchannel coils are lighter, more compact, and more efficient at heat transfer. Copper coils are more familiar in the field and easier to repair. Check out our blog on microchannel coil vs copper coil for a full breakdown.

How long does it take to manufacture a coil?

Standard orders typically ship in 3-4 weeks. Custom orders may take a bit longer depending on design complexity and materials. We’ll always keep you updated on lead times.

Do you ship nationwide?

Yes. CS Coil is based in Houston, Texas, but we serve customers all over the US. Shipping options vary based on order size and destination.

Can you help identify a failed or underperforming coil?

Yes. If you’re having trouble with an existing coil, send us the specs and performance issues. Our team can help diagnose the problem and recommend a replacement or upgrade.

Can you replicate an OEM coil?

In most cases, yes. If you can send us the original coil or provide accurate measurements and photos, we can build a matching replacement (even for discontinued units!)

Can I get coils with rust protection?

Yes. We apply protective coatings in-house, including Silica, e-coat and Heresite. These coatings help protect against corrosion from salt, chemicals, and humidity. We always recommend coating coils for coastal, industrial, or humid environments.

Is it better to coat coils before or after installation?

Always better to coat them before they’re installed. New coils offer the cleanest surface for coatings to bond to, which means longer-lasting protection. Once a coil’s been used, it’s harder to clean and prep for coating.

How do you apply protective coatings?

We use spray, dip, or electrostatic application methods depending on the coating. Each coil goes through a cleaning, prep, and cure process to make sure the coating sticks properly and holds up over time.

Do you repair coils?

We don’t offer in-house repairs, but if a coil is damaged beyond a simple fix, we can build a direct replacement quickly. No need to track down hard-to-find OEM parts.

Can I visit your facility?

Absolutely. If you’re in the Houston area, you’re welcome to stop by and see how we build our coils. Just give us a heads-up so we can show you around safely.

How do I request a quote?

Just use our contact form or give us a call. If you have specs or a drawing, include that, and we’ll get you a fast, accurate quote.
